The attractiveness of panoramic glazing gives it a holistic look. Weight of stained glass
Knowing how much the glass and the profile of the stained glass window weigh, you can calculate the average weight of the structure.
A square meter of M1 transparent glass with a thickness of 1 mm weighs 2.5 kg / m2. If the double-glazed unit has a glass thickness of 3 mm, the average weight will be 7.5 kg. Now it remains to multiply the weight of 1m2 by the sum of the glazing areas.
In the same way, the total length of the profile is calculated and multiplied by the weight of one linear meter of the profile according to the manufacturer's technical data.
Design of stained glass glazing systems
The following stained glass glazing systems can easily create an original openwork, hi-tech image:
1. Rack and pinion. The structure of the stained-glass window consists of a support rack and crossbars, equipped with special grooves, which are designed for ventilation and drainage of condensate. The frame is usually located on the inside of the facade.
The structure of the stained-glass glazing includes a pressure profile, which is used to fix the translucent filling. From above, it is covered with round, flat or almond-shaped decorative overlays.
Overlays repeat the pattern of the supporting structure, which affects the aesthetic appearance of the facade. The type of filling determines the color and appearance of the building.
Sealants must be used in the system to provide the tightness of the structure. Additionally, it is reliable, durable and easy to use.
2. Post-and-Girder half-closed system. It differs in fastening. The glass is fastened externally with clamps either horizontally or vertically.
3. Structural system. In stained glass, the glass unit is mounted to the frame with the help of an adhesive composition. Thus, the outer side of the facade remains completely glass, as the seams are not visible.
In this glazing system, high-quality profiles and double-glazed units are used, which have high sound and heat insulation properties, they increase the ability of the structural system to withstand heavy loads.

4. Semi-structured glazing is a system in which fastening is carried out with the help of special studs.
5. Spider glazing is a system in which the installation of translucent filling is carried out by the point method. Double-glazed windows are fixed with spiders - special steel brackets, shaped like a spider. The gaps between them are filled with silicone solution.
